A different philosophy to that of our Western societies
In Chinese medicine, there are three main levels; a chronological order exists between these levels, which must be observed to avoid any imbalance :
the mind (working through meditation, Qi Gong, coaching...)
the functional (working through massage, acupuncture...)
the organic (working through the pharmacopoeia)
This taking into account of all the aspects of an individual enables a person to work harmoniously and take charge as a whole by oberving the balance of the three dimensions.
For example, in conjunction with coaching, sessions, acupuncture is a good solution for healing burn-out situations.
These treatments are equally appropriate in terms of the management of gynaecological problems and dermatological problems such as shingles, but also for joint problems such as tendonitis.
"For me, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is not a medical subject nor just way to treat patients. In order to understand TCM, we must know the origin, approach and characteristitcs of Chinese Philosophy. Its point of view is very different to that of Western medicine. When you want to appreciate a painting, it is necessary to step back and see the work as a whole. TCM is interested in the whole phenomenon, but does not get bogged down in details.
Western medicince examines the working of the human body. It is accurate in points of detail. TCM treats the individual holistically - the notion of holistic balance.
The origin of TCM dates back to antiquity. The first seminal work (Huang Di Nei Jing) has been in existence for three thousand years. With its rich experience and strict theoretical logic, it is the only traditional medicine still very much alive; nowadays, it still treats one out of ten patients in the world.
Its concepts of energy, balance and wholeness are not just intended for medicine, but apply to the philosophy and hygiene of daily life. This is why we say that TCM is not only interessed in diseases but above all in the sick themselves!
It is a bridge between reality and spirituality! It is a science, but it is above all wisdom. Chinese medicine brings good health and boosts morale.
In China, it is an official medicine taught at university. Modern medicine and traditional medicine complement each other harmoniously.
Westerners discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine in particular through Acupuncture, but it is a much vaster system.
This system also includes :
The Pharmacopoeia which uses more than a thousand plants based on an accurate diagnosis
Chinese massage (Tunia) is preceded by a diagnosis based on Chinese Medicine and uses various techniques to massage the acupuncture points and meridians to heal and prevent disease. Shiatsu (Japanese massage), as we know, emanated from Chinese masage.
Dietetics: according to Chinese medicine, each food, depending on its nature, flavour or function, has a good or bad influence on the state of our health.
Chinese psychology opens an original door to Westerners concerning emotional and affective disorders.
Qi Gong is a very ancient physical and spiritual practice, which has a preventive and curative effect on health.
His system provides effective natural therapy without side effects."
